In the UK, Accutane (which is sometimes called Roaccutane or Isotretinoin, but they’re all the same thing) can only be prescribed by a dermatologist, which means you’ll need a referral from your GP. Roaccutane works by reducing the size of the sebaceous glands and reducing production of sebum oil in your skin. Over the past nearly 20 years, I have seen patients struggle with the condition daily and many of these patients have returned for treatment after taking Accutane which offered a short term solution only.

Following oral administration of isotretinoin, the terminal elimination half-life of unchanged drug in patients with acne has a mean value of 19 hours. The terminal elimination half-life of 4-oxo-isotretinoin is longer, with a mean value of 29 hours. A number of cases of decreased night vision have occurred during isotretinoin therapy and in rare instances have persisted after therapy (see section 4.4 and section 4.8). Because the onset in some patients was sudden, patients should be advised of this potential problem and warned to be cautious when driving or operating machines. Serum lipids should be checked before treatment, 1 month after the start of treatment, and subsequently at 3 monthly intervals unless more frequent monitoring is clinically indicated. Elevated serum lipid values usually return to normal on reduction of the dose or discontinuation of treatment and may also respond to dietary measures.

In addition, the cells present in the skin are much less sticky, thus changing their appearance. Now, the cost through some insurances will depend on your plan. For more details on this, it is best to check with the insurance company. It has been two months, and I still haven’t seen any improvement.
The side effect spectrum of isotretinoin in the rodent thus closely resembles that of vitamin A, but does not include the massive tissue and organ calcifications observed with vitamin A in the rat. The liver cell changes observed with vitamin A did not occur with isotretinoin. Isotretinoin is highly lipophilic, therefore the passage of isotretinoin into human milk is very likely. Due to the potential for adverse effects in the child exposed via mothers' milk, Roaccutane is contraindicated during breast-feeding (see section 4.3). Cases of benign intracranial hypertension have been reported, some of which involved concomitant use of tetracyclines (see section 4.3 and section 4.5).
